The Residence

Please make a contribution to our cause.

A tax deductible gift helps those such as you, periodically, find a place to "get away" from the rush of the world.

Dear Neighbor,

Come pray with us!  Mary Theotokos Monastic Retreat Center was founded in the early 1980's by Fr. Stephen Von Faur.  Fr.Steve was a bi-ritual priest in both the Roman and Byzantine Catholic Rites. He built the retreat center on his own and through the generosity of community members.  Fr.Steve passed away in 2011, and Mary Theotokos Retreat Center continues. We host personal or group retreats and also have a poustinia for silent retreats.

Over the last several years we have done repairs to improve the structure of the buildings.  We now need new well spring lines, also increase the bathrooms and showers, and insulate in the buildings.  Most of our equipment is old and needs repairs. A new roof is needed and perhaps an artesian well. Can we count on your help ?

Our center is a gem.  We have 280 acres of forest, fields and streams, nestled in the green mountains of the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont.  We are located 15 miles from Burke Mountain, a ski and mountain bike resort and two miles from Lake Willoughby. Willoughby State Forest, with great hiking trails on 7500 acres, is nearby.

We are currently in the process of increasing the number of retreats we host.  Our initial campaign has had good success in bookings for the summer and fall.  We plan to continue to promote the center and expect that this will increase our income, but we need the help of generous donors like you.  Maintenance of our buildings is expensive which adds to the annual budget. We ask you to please make a tax deductible donation to Mary Theotokos Center, for which we will be extremely grateful.

We keep you in our daily prayers.  Thank you in advance for your support.

Sincerely yours in Christ,

Judith Coy
